Bring back the original My Little Pony Campaign!

Why am I on the campaign to bring back the original My Little Pony? I believe Hasbro has completely ignored it's roots.  The original design of the My Little Pony was more thoughtful and creative than it is now. Even the packaging in itself was a beautiful work of art. The packaging created a springboard in which young girls could imagine what the world of the ponies was like. The thoughful little stories on the back gave children a window into the personalities of each pony they collected. The best part of all, was that the stories didn't perpetuate consumerizm the way most toys do now.  They were simple, fun-loving toys in a utopian-type world that a lot of chilldren in a hurting would could escape to.

The accessories that the Original MLP's came with were well thought out. Many of them were toys in themselves that could be played with along with the ponies. The brushes and combs were in the images of butterflies, flowers, frogs, and even the baby sea ponies had fish combs that could swim along with them. A complimentive ribbon also came with the ponies. For me, that saved me from bothering my mother for scraps to tie the ponies hair. The ribbons taught me how to braid hair, and eventually how to tie my own shoes!

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the G3 line, I think they are very cute. They kindof seem like the younger cousins of the original MLP line. However, the original MLPs seemed more intelligent. The eyes themself told a story that maybe there was more behind them than just the happy-go-lucky characters the ponies potray.

The new ponies don't even come with ribbons anymore to play with their hair.  That was one of the reasons that little girls liked the ponies. Yes, the brushes and ribbons for the most part got lost along the way.  But I always had some of the ribbons and brushes to play beauty shop with.

The G1 styling of the actual ponies were more believable to me than the new ones, they weren't as streamlined as they are now. They were just artful. Ever since they came out with the originals, I have always wanted to be a part of it. I never was much of  a collector of things growing up, except for the ponies.  Something about them made me want to have herds of them.

The original My Little Pony had male ponies! This created genetic diversity. Who wants to play in a world where only girls exist? I know I don't! They were masculine in their own right, with clydesdale-type hooves and a larger body that was full of pony hunkiness.   So that is why I am starting off the campaign with the Big or Baby Bro pony banners.  Put them on your webpage, use them in your signatures.  Let's tell Hasbro how much we want our ponies back!
